In the opening session, we have already confirmed:
- Dr Ian Campbell, Director – Health & Life Sciences, from Innovate UK will talk about the latest news from Government and the support they can provide to innovators. You can find out more about Dr Campbell here.
- Prof. Fiona Lettice, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation and Professor of Innovation Management, UEA. More about Prof. Fiona Lettice’s session will be available soon.
- Rene van der Merwe, Senior Director of Respiratory and Inflammation for Medimmune and ‘Healthcare Businesswomen Association’ (HBA) Rising Star Award Winner, will talk about the value of collaboration in advancing science, and what to look for in a good partnership. After the morning break, we will be delving into Industry 4.0 – looking at the opportunities and next steps for this critical 4th Industrial Revolution.
After lunch it will be time for Pitchfest (sponsored by Price Bailey and PA Consulting)- the fast and furious pitching competition that is not to be missed! Led by St John’s Innovation Centre, make sure you are there to see the innovators of the future first hand.
Rounding off the day is a session not to be missed for all innovators at Venturefest East. The ‘What Investors Want’ session gives you the chance to hear directly from investors who will tell you what they want and need before they’ll consider investing. Already lined up for the panel is self-made millionaire and investor Mike Greene, as well as Business Angel and Former CEO of the FSE group Sally Goodsell, and other experts from Cambridge Innovation Capital and the Department for International Trade.
Outside of the main plenary speakers and Track Sessions, remember to visit the Innovation Exhibition, which includes a host of engaging exhibitors.
Plus, there is the opportunity to step into our Elevator Pitch, sponsored by Marks & Clerk, where you can get 60 seconds to pitch your new idea to a leading expert who can provide you with immediate feedback and advice on how to turn your idea into reality.
